I bought two of these books and I have been very impressed. It has been very challenging for me to find books that are able to address the hormones of A teenager at a level that is appropriate for someone who is not neuro typical. This does not have a lot of narrative and nor does it have a lot of wording. It just gives ideas in one sentence type detail on what to talk about. This is been very helpful for me to get started just in having a conversation with my son. It also has been helpful for me to know which things I should be talking about and allows me to add detail or simplify based on his understanding through our conversations. Bottom line, this is not a curriculum and this will not tell you what to say. This will however get you started and having conversations with your kids. I highly recommend this book for that reason. It is not a book that I have to wonder about if they are ready to pick up and read. I think this book is absolutely one of the best books I have purchased on the subject. Trust me, I have purchased several!
Recently, my wife and I became concerned about the amount of personal time our 14 year old daughter (our youngest child) was spending on the computer, although her charter school is mostly online so she uses the computer a lot. Still, we decided to check her web browsing history and while we found nothing that would rise to the level of pornography, we discovered that she had access a quite a few lectures about sexual related issues by a somewhat hip, self-proclaimed "expert" on YouTube. I had previously heard about the 30 Days of Sex Talks books from an associate at church and once we found out that my daughter was filling her information information void by consulting less than scrupulous sources, I immediately ordered the version of the book that is for Ages 12+. After reading the book, all I can say is WOW - it would have been so helpful to have this resource as we raised our other children who are now grown and gone. I found the book to be easy navigate, well organized, and it's packed with tons of information to make parents credible authorities while not being overwhelming at all. The toughest part about talking about sexual information and issues with kids is simply getting started if you haven't made this a regular topic of conversation. I'm very happy that 30 Days of Sex Talks for Ages 12+ has given my wife and I the help and confidence we needed to get going on this and be better parents.
Couldn't be happier to have this book in our house. Very important as children are always curious, but might be afraid to approach parents. I can definitely say it is a great way to open the doors of communication on a topic some are afraid to discuss!

It is hard to find the right words to talk about sex to my kids. I got this book to help me when my oldest kid hits 12 in 2 years. I feel children need to taught the basics before their peers teach them all the wrong things. I really want to be the source about such a huge topic that can effect my kids life forever. This book is a simple format that will enable the most insecure parent how to talk about sex to children and have them understand it.
These are wonderful books that can help every parent have productive conversations with their children about healthy sexuality.
My wife and I purchased two of the three series, you know how kids get older and all, and we were impressed with how much we were able to learn from the first book. I thought I had it all together and would know exactly what to say and when but found myself realizing I was a bit too confident after shedding some light on what seemed like methods that would truly help my child feel loved and on the path to healthy relationships, not to mention a positive experience with puberty and growing up with sex.
