Excellent!

The Kolbs are the "go to" consultants on experiential education!

Very clear illustrations of experiential learning theories.

Being so close to Dave as one of my PhD Chairs, makes it really impossible for me to write "an objective review" about Alice & David Kolb's The Experiential Educator: Principles and Practices of Experiential Learning Kaunakakai, HI,2017 as Amazon guidelines suggest for reviewers. Having spent entire days, and weekend evenings or mornings talking with David for over fifteen years now about the role of education for human and broader learning and growth, I know how consistently and genuinely Dave serves humanistic values, principles and visions about how quality education can really transform the students and the educators themselves and how vital it is for transforming society. In my view this is a long due book and the most important of Dave's works because it finally is contextualising, applying and reflecting on Experiential Learning Theory in the context of education and with the aim to profoundly help a quality attention to what is involved in educating younger and adult minds: from Dewey's important attention to reflective and deep thinking as a way to enable more humanistic and less dualistic but rich and open worldviews, to the role of educators role modelling moral leadership and integrity in the classroom and beyond, to the role of play and fun in education, life and work, to the importance of reducing fear for learning and an openness to a learning identity growth and a genuine stance of personal and team inquiry dialogic approach to learning, I can indeed say how much I share in common with Dave in our work regarding human learning, growth and development. Hence, I genuinely believe Dave and Alice have done a stellar job with this book and is a great tool for all educators worldwide. Dr. Kleio Akrivou, Associate Professor of Business Ethics and Human development, University of Reading.

This compendium of experiential learning knowledge marries good solid theory with practical experience. Whenever experts like the Kolbs write everything they know on a subject they've spent their lives researching and perfecting, it's an opportunity not to be missed. This book is fascinating, well-written and extremely useful. Experiential learning is a sure path to engagement and development for students and to creating master teachers.

Dave and Alice Kolb have compiled 49 years of research on Experiential Learning Theory, the various tests, like the LSI, ASI, LSP and so forth, and as many years of effective use in education and training into this masterful book. It is a major reference book for anyone who designs and delivers training and education, or seeks to help others learn and be motivated to learn, like coaches, managers, and parents. Millions of people are demotivated in learning and conclude they are cognitively slow or have learning disabilities when in fact the reason is far simpler: they have a learning style that is different from the faculty or trainers providing the developmental experience.

Reading the Experiential Educator is like attending a master class with Alice and David Kolb. The book contains nearly 50 years of research and practice on Experiential Learning Theory, the learning cycle, learning styles and more. Anyone who educates--teachers, coaches, managers, and even parents-- can benefit from reading this highly practical book. It will empower you to become more effective in educating, learning, and life.

David Kolb’s work has influenced my philosophy and practice in adult higher education for many decades. Thank you, Alice Kolb and David Kolb, for making experiential learning theory and principles highly practical in your latest work, The Experiential Educator. I find the notion of ‘deep experiencing’ especially relevant to my work with adult learners.
